Mikhail N. Erokhin, academician (Russian Academy of Sciences), doctor of technical sciences, professor of strength of the materials and machine parts of Russian State Agrarian University – Moscow agricultural Academy named after K.A. Timiryazev. 

He is the Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation (1997), the winner of prizes of the Russian Federation Government in the field of science (2001) and education (2008), he was awarded the Medal of Honor, the order "For merits before Fatherland of IV degree", a gold medal "For contribution to the development of agriculture", certificates of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Education. 

Mikhail N. Erokhin was born in 1946. He graduated from Moscow Institute of Agricultural Engineers named after V.P. Goryachkin in 1968. Since 1970, he worked at Moscow Institute of Agricultural Engineers named after V.P. Goryachkin (in 1993, the Institute was renamed into Moscow State Agroengineering University named after V.P. Goryachkin) in various positions: from a junior researcher to the Vice-Rector. From 1995 till 2011, he acted as the Rector of the University, from 2011 till 2014, he functioned as the President of the University. After the unification of the three universities, from 2014 till 2017 – the Advisor to Rector. At present, Professor of the Department of Resistance of Materials and Machine Parts of Russian State Agrarian University – Moscow Agricultural Academy named after K.A. Timiryazev.

In 2001, he was elected the Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Agricultural Sciences, in 2003 - Academician of the Russian Academy of Agricultural Sciences. Since 2014 - Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences. He defended his PhD thesis in 1972, DSc thesis in 1994, and got an academic title of Professor in 1991.

Teaching experience – over 40 years. The head of scientific school on the formation of the necessary level of reliability for agricultural machinery. He developed a number of processes to increase the wear resistance of friction units, the original working bodies of agricultural machinery. He has 21 author certificates on inventions and patents. Prepared by 13 doctors and 10 candidates of sciences, directs the work of doctoral students and post-graduate students.
